Ben Dawes, the newest member of our sales team is a keen and it has to be said good rugby player. Combine this with a dynamic personality and you would think that here is someone who will turn their hand to most things.
However, there is one thing that Ben has never done, until now. Most rugby players are not associated with stamina events, especially forward, they are all about power and speed, so when Ben was challenged to complete his first 10K run, he had to think more than twice.
What swung it was the memory of his grandad. Ben had been very close to him so when he sadly passed away, it left a big hole in his life. The Nottingham 10K gave Ben the perfect opportunity to keep his grandad’s memory alive and at the same time raise some money for Macmillan Cancer who had helped his family during the tough days.
The timing of the run couldn’t have been better, off season from rugby but needing to start pre-season training, it gave Ben a reason to stay fit and you never know, it might help him to be in better shape than at the same stage last year.
Ben finished the run and has already raised over £500, so hats off to him. If you want to help continue the fundraising click here
