KMS Sponsor ARMA Conference
In October we attended the ARMA Conference for the first time. The conference, a one-day event for residential managing agents is an opportunity for the profession to come together and see what is new and discuss new initiatives.
In this fast-moving world there has been numerous technical developments in a variety of industries including Fintech for the Financial industry and Biotech for all things biological. There is now such a grouping for property management technology companies, which is PropTech (Property Technology) the name given to technological innovations that are developed for and implemented within the property industry. Quoting James Dearsley “The end goal of PropTech is to best prepare the property industry for the digital future, it is not the replacement of humans with machines; it is the utilisation of modern technology to enhance the abilities, speed, and efficiency of those who sell, buy, maintain, manage, work within, live within and make their living from property. “
At KMS, we are a leading Proptech innovator in the UK and offer the market leading residential access control product, which has not only displaced the traditional mechanical key locks from communal doors but by also removing the need for housing staff or contractors to visit site to add or delete key fobs. The Simplekey Web based residential access control platform has revolutionised block access management enabling new resident to be added almost immediately or contractor fobs to be assigned to all or groups of dwellings and of course lost fobs can also be locked out instantly.
We were very pleased with the day and will certainly be looking to be involved again next year. To find out more click here.
KMS SEM Launched at Housing Manchester
Housing 2018 has been and gone and for KMS it was the start of a new phase for it’s leading SimpleKey Web communal door access control solution. We took the opportunity to launch the latest generation at Housing, the KMS SimpleKey Event Manager (SEM).
The SEM is designed to be connected to a SimpleKey System Controller using the KMS BUS, which then allows an additional 8 inputs and 8 outputs to be controlled and monitored. Each input and output is administered via the SimpleKey Web site, and can be linked to any other input or output on the same system.
Examples of how this may be used include: –
· Lift control
· Internal lighting
· Fire Door Monitoring
· CCTV links
As a major provider of housing in the UK, Cardiff Council (CC) manage over 800 residential housing blocks. CC are constantly looking at ways to improve both the quality of their housing blocks and the efficiency of managing them. The latest area to be identified was the management of the communal door access systems.
CC identified the key requirements of a new system, including:
• Cloud based system
• Remove the need for staff or contractors to visit a block to add or delete a fob
• Ensure all Housing managers could manage their own blocks
• Reduce costs to manage the communal doors access
Since confirming KMS as the supplier, CC have been able to upgrade the communal door access solutions in all their blocks. Now, every housing officer is able to add and delete fobs instantly, the saving in time and money has been significant. In addition, CC now have access to detailed management information ensuring they can monitor usage at all times. To find out more about how we delivered CC’s requirements click here.
Team Profile – Ben Dawes
Ben Dawes, the newest member of our sales team is a keen and it has to be said good rugby player. Combine this with a dynamic personality and you would think that here is someone who will turn their hand to most things.
However, there is one thing that Ben has never done, until now. Most rugby players are not associated with stamina events, especially forward, they are all about power and speed, so when Ben was challenged to complete his first 10K run, he had to think more than twice. What swung it was the memory of his grandad.

KMS Sponsor Football Team
KMS are please to announce that they have agreed to sponsor Stourport Swifts Juniors U14 Puma’s for the 2018 season.
As a business we are always keen to do what we can in the local community and we strongly believe in helping to ensure that children’s sports clubs get as much help as they can from the local business community and we do what we can to help.
This season we are sponsoring Stourport Swifts Juniors U14 Puma’s, from Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, one of the oldest non-league teams in the country. The Swifts currently play in the Midland League Premier Division and play at Walshes Meadow in the town.
The juniors teams were started up last year after a gap of nearly 30 years and need all the support they can get to keep going and give the local children a chance to play for a great club. The team play in the Troy Deeney Foundation MIDLAND JUNIOR PREMIER LEAGUE which has over 60 teams from all over the Midlands competing in it, a big step up from the local league the team competed in last season.
The benefits to the children and the community cannot be underestimated so we are pleased to do our bit. Fingers crossed the team can do well and hopefully look forward to promotion at the end of the season.
